Everyone I know has been so frustrated about trying to find ways to help people out after this disaster and often giving money just doesn't seem enough. I got pretty fed up sitting around watching all of the negativity on the news and decided it was time to act and do something to help the littlest victims. Well, come to find out there are many evacuees right here in the Pensacola area who needed assistance. With the help of all of the wonderful ladies in the Whiting Field Student Officer Spouse Association and many other millitary wives here in Milton, this is what has been collected only in the first 2 days. So far we have over 750 diapers, 3 cans of formula, 8 boxes of wipes, several brand new blankets and new baby clothes to drop off to the parents that are caring for their infants in local shelters. On NAS Pensacola alone there are 800 military members and their families that are currently sheltered and are in need. This is only a small contribution but, imagine the possibilities if everyone does just a little to help. It is truly encouraging to see how many people dropped stuff off at our house already and I know it will be much appreciated. Just a little something positive to share in a time that there seems to be so much focus on the negative. I know many of you who are family and friends of ours are doing your little bit to help. Thank you, every little bit counts :-)
