My Birthday: Adolescence Revisited

Maggie pickin' on me :-)
Me advertising the hair color...
Scared??
I look like I am a little scared...
If your hair color doesn't turn out you can always wear a hat :-)
My friend Jayby is always on the phone...there is one at every slumber party...
Is this a reaction to the hair color?
If you are 8 months pregnant you are entitled to a comfy chair, your feet up and a stylish hat.

For my 32nd birthday, my girlfriends and I had a slumber party. So, we did typical girl stuff. We ate really yummy fondue, we drank gin and tonics and of course...we colored our hair. It sounds crazy but, it was a great birthday party and I had a blast.

First Day of School 2008/2009

Walk like an Egyptian??
The first day of school was a half-day and I took the day off so, we went with my friend Maggie and her girls to the pool so the kids could have one last "summer" afternoon.
Michael Phelps doesn't have anything on RJ...Summer Olympics 2020?? Watch out he is well on his way!!

RJ and Ian

On Sunday RJ went to his friend, Ian's Birthday Party at the Bounce House in Virginia Beach. This is one of his best buddies. His mom, Rebecca and I are good friends and they usually have a pretty good time playing together. It looks like he is either hugging RJ or choking him and this is a lot like their "love/hate" relationship (pretty common for 4-year-olds)

Visiting New York

On Wednesday Bobby left for deployment. He will be on the USS Kearsarge in Central and South America on a humanitarian mission. He is scheduled to be home December 1st. The day we dropped him off, the kids and I headed up to NY for a little rest and relaxation. It was incredible. We had such a great time and my Uncle Jon and Aunt Erica couldn't have made us feel more at home or more comfortable. I didn't want to leave and I can't wait to get back there. The air smelled so good and clean and fresh. It was so nice to not have to rush around or deal with traffic and just enjoy family. The kids had a wonderful time. They really enjoyed being able to play in such a huge yard (field).  Erica and I made jars for the kids with candy in order to count down the days until Bobby gets back. They have been very diligent in keeping up with it.

RJ was told exactly how to pick green beans and he was concentrating so hard on doing it right. he did a great job.
He also learned the very important "twisting" technique for picking zucchini
