Daddy's Not-So-Little Girl

Well, it's true, your dad can come to the rescue and make you feel all better even if you're 30. I guess I am still Daddy's little girl. Every time Bobby has ever deployed, my dad has always flown to see me and make things a little easier. It really helps to have him there to do fun stuff with the kids and just keep me from getting sad. We had a great visit and the kids had so much fun being silly with Grandpa Dane. He even fixes stuff when he visits, even though Bobby didn't leave much to be fixed. Thanks so much, Dad.

Rylee and Grandpa Dane Visit the Aquarium

This past week was Rylee's Spring Break and since Grandpa Dane was visiting the two of them spent Thursday and Friday together while I worked and RJ went to school. On Thursday, Rylee wanted to go to the aquarium and in true Grandpa form, he granted her what she wanted :-)

Bobby Sees a Friendly Face in Bahrain

Bobby arrived safely in Bahrain after flying from Norfolk to Detroit to Amsterdam to Bahrain. When he got there he was able to see our good friend Bryan who is on a DET there with HSC-26. He flew to the ship from Bahrain and has already had his first flight. He says that all is well.

Happy Easter

HAPPY EASTER!!
We had a wonderful Easter Sunday. We woke up early to see what the Easter Bunny brought for everyone. RJ thinks that Auntie Sarah's pet rabbit is the Easter Bunny so, the fact that she and the rabbit were here worked out real well. Rylee gave up candy for Lent and so Easter morning was quite a feast for her. She was very excited to find a new Nintendo DS in her basket and played it for most of the day. RJ was easier to please...Auntie gave him some Hotwheels and he was very satisfied. We had a wonderful brunch that Sarah was kind enough to arrange and then I headed to work. We all met up for evening mass and it was a great end to a great day.

RJ Makes it Snow in the Family Room

Don't let your eyes deceive you. Although it appears to have snowed in our family room, the truth is that this great mess was a result of RJ tearing apart, piece by piece, a large chunk of Styrofoam. I received a beautiful gift in the mail from my mom and dad and I left the packing material by the back door to throw away. As I was in the back of the house cleaning, RJ had a better idea for the Styrofoam and got busy right away. I laughed so hard when I saw what he did. I left the mess for when Rylee and Bobby came back from the store, they also laughed. He was so proud of himself and it took over an hour and a half to clean up.
