An Amazing Response

Since the last time I wrote about the infant supply drive, the amount of stuff donated quadrupled at least. The response was overwhelming. Military wives in this neighborhood really helped out when it was needed. Heidi and I loaded up 2 pick-up trucks full this morning and dropped them off at a church that is operating as a distribution site for Red Cross and FEMA. They are basically like a free grocery store for hurricane victims. They had so much stuff but, surprisingly were in great need of what we collected. We dropped off 4,638 diapers, 1,197 oz of formula, 12,306 wipes and a list of other baby supplies that would take up this entire page if I even had the time to type it out. Of that included baby bath, powder, 76 jars of baby food, brand new blankets and outfits, bottles, sippy cups, pedialite, pediasure, Q-tips, toys, diaper rash ointment, first-aid supplies and even a new pair of baby boy Nikes. I am surprised to report that I have been able to hold back the tears but I would be lying if I said that I am not very moved by the kindness that all of my neighbors have shown and I know there are people that will be very grateful. Thanks so much to everyone who helped.
