Taking My Best Friend Home

My very good friend Heidi is moving to Whidbey Island, WA where her husband will fly in Prowlers. She decided to drive to Aurora, IL (her home town) instead of all the way to Washington due to how close is was to the holidays. She asked me to drive with her so she wouldn't be alone and she was kind enough to fly me home after a weekend visit with her family. The trip was bittersweet for me. All of her family was so wonderful to me, I felt right at home and it was great to see where she comes from. Of course I was stoked to see snow and I didn't even mind driving in it. We had a great time going to basketball games to see her sister cheer, her dad coach and her cousin play. We had one of the best pizzas I have ever had at a local joint called Ach and Lou's. I really need to find out if they ship to Florida :-) However, for the last few months I have been spending almost every day with her and so it is really hard to say goodbye. But, it is a small Navy and we will see eachother again soon. She is just like family to us and we will all really miss her.
